Project History

  • 2005 Dieudonne Tamfu (Pastor of EBB and Director of Bethlehem Seminary Extension Site) and Tom Steller (TLI Director of Theological Education in Cameroon) meet in his village in Northwest Province of Cameroon for the first time.

  • 2007 Dieudonne begins his graduate program at The Bethlehem Institute (which became Bethlehem College and Seminary). He lives in Steller basement and the dream for church planting in French Cameroon and church-based theological education begins to develop.

  • 2010 Dieudonne graduates from TBI and begins studies at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

  • 2013 Dieudonne and Dominique are married.

  • 2014 Dieudonne graduates with his PhD in Biblical Theology;

  • 2015 Dieudonne begins pastoral ministry at Jubilee Community Church in Minneapolis and joins the faculty of Bethlehem College and Seminary.

  • 2018 The Tamfus are commissioned and move to Cameroon for French study, to develop church-planting team and begin recruiting first cohort of MDiv students.

  • 2019 MDiv program begins; land in Yaounde for the church and seminary is purchased as God supplies $100,000.

  • 2020 Tom Steller commissioned as TLI Director of Theological Education in Cameroon; Église Baptiste Bethléem is planted; Bryan and Heather MacPhail-Fausey become part of the team.

  • 2021 God provides $90,000 to purchase Print-on-Demand  and book-making equipment for L'Imprimerie Sola Scriptura; boundary wall for church/seminary/printing land is built for $42,000 which again God amazingly provides.

  • 2022 EMI Senegal completes conceptual design for the ministry center; fund-raising begins.

  • 2023 EMI Middle East/North Africa assists in finding a reputable construction company; fund-raising continues.

  • As of April 2023, almost $100,000 has already been given by Cameroonians and others to the Yaounde Building Campaign.

  • 2024 construction begins. This is our prayer! 

  • Easter 2026—dedication of the completed church/seminary/printing ministry center. This is our prayer!
